In an optical recording medium10comprising groove tracks11including a first area Ba for recording record information and a second area Ca in which predetermined data is formed as embossed pit rows19and a readout of other data overwritten and recorded on said embossed pit rows19is prevented, and land tracks12formed between the adjacent groove tracks11, a depth Ed and a duty of the embossed pit rows19are set so that a radial push-pull signal in the first area and a radial push-pull signal in the second area become the substantially same level.
