ABSTRACT:
An optical module having a substrate which includes a light-emitting device mounting area provided on its first principal surface, a lens mounting groove with a cross section of V shape, and a support groove formed orthogonal to the lens mounting groove, and an inclined surface to allow a lens element to slide therealong. The support groove includes a bottom surface, a first side surface toward the light-emitting device mounting area, a second side surface opposed to the first side surface, and a first and a second portion defined by the lens mounting groove. The inclined surface is provided on at least one of the side surfaces. Thus, light would not be reflected by the optical module to be returned to a light source.
