ABSTRACT:
An optical module capable of preventing the efficiency of optical coupling from deteriorating even if temperature varies. The optical module1has a holder2and an aspherical lens11,which are formed of a plastic so as to be integrated with each other. The holder2has a cylindrical portion8which engages a photoelectric transfer element package3.The photoelectric transfer element package3has a flange portion15which butts the open end face16of the cylindrical portion8.The flange portion15is bonded to the open end face16of the cylindrical portion16,and a gap is formed between the outer peripheral surface18of the cap12of the photoelectric transfer element package3and the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion8.
