ABSTRACT:
An optical measurement apparatus10primarily includes: a photon detection unit12for detecting incident photons, a time signal output unit14for outputting a time signal, and a storage unit16for storing the time signal outputted from the time signal output unit14when the photon detection unit12detects photons. The photon detection unit12includes a HPD24having a photocathode24aand an APD24b, a TZ amplifier26, a peak holding circuit28, and an A/D converter30. The time signal output unit14includes a timer32and a counter34. The storage unit16includes a comparator36and a memory38. When photons impinge on the HPD24, a trigger signal is outputted from the comparator36, causing the photon-number outputted from the A/D converter30and the time data outputted from the counter34to be stored in the memory38.
