ABSTRACT:
An optical fiber includes an optical fiber element having a core layer and a cladding layer formed on the core layer, and a coating layer having a refractive index lower than at least the refractive index of the cladding layer, or a coating layer including at least one of a predetermined saturated higher fatty acid and alkylpolysiloxane.
