ABSTRACT:
An optical fiber cable employs a tension member and coated optical fibers having a tightly adhering layer which is made of a liquid-crystal polymer having a linear expansion coefficient of from -15.times.10.sup.-6 to -5.times.10.sup.-6 (1/.degree. C.), and these coated optical fibers are confined in a space in the cable with an allowance in length of 0.5%. The coated optical fibers are confined in loose tubes or in slots formed in a linear spacer.
