ABSTRACT:
In an optical element, and a method and apparatus for forming the same, peeling does not occur while a resin layer is cured, and the completed optical element can be easily released after the resin layer has been completely cured. The optical-element forming apparatus includes a forming surface for transferring a predetermined surface shape onto a surface of the resin layer, and includes a mold member having a high molecular weight material satisfying physical values of a hardness: >D50 and/or >R70, a modulus of elasticity: 5000-35000 kgf/cm.sup.2, a coefficient of friction: <0.2, a coefficient of water absorption: <0.3%, and a light resistance: invariable or slightly variable.
