ABSTRACT:
An optical data reproducing apparatus for reproducing data recorded on a predetermined optical data recording medium, comprising a converter circuit for converting an analog signal corresponding to data to be reproduced, to a digital data item, a data memory circuit for storing, in time sequence, a plurality of data items output from the converter circuit, a comparator circuit for comparing a predetermined one of the data items stored in the memory circuit are obtained in several times of storage operations before the present storage operation, with a data item presently stored in the memory circuit, an edge detecting circuit for detecting an edge of the analog signal on the basis of the comparison result, and a digitized signal generating circuit for generating a digitized signal on the basis of an output from the edge detecting circuit.
