For preventing reduction of transmitting efficiency of signal light, an optical connector1has a ferrule4joined with an end of an optical fiber cable7, a housing and a plate-like spring6. The ferrule4includes a cylindrical portion11and the first flange12disposed at central portion11aof the cylindrical portion11. The plate-like spring6received in the housing5has a first straight portion21abutting on the flange12, a second straight portion22abutting on an inner surface of the housing5, and connecting portions23connecting the straight portions21, 22. The first straight portion21and the second straight portion22intersect a center axis P perpendicularly.
