ABSTRACT:
An optical cache memory architecture is utilized that has the advantages of fast access time, high bandwidth and high density. The optical cache memory architecture stores data holographically with greatly reduced crosstalk and distortions. The memory architecture uses the beam fanning effect present within a high gain photorefractive crystal to eliminate the so-called Bragg degeneracy.
