ABSTRACT:
An operating apparatus1of the present invention has a driven element5, a frame4having a contacted element51and rotatably supporting the driven element5, and an ultrasonic motor. The ultrasonic motor includes a vibrating element6. The vibrating element6includes a first piezoelectric element62that undergoes extension and contraction by application of an AC voltage, a reinforcing plate63having a contact portion66and an arm portion68, and a second piezoelectric element64that undergoes extension and contraction by application of an AC voltage. The first piezoelectric element62, the reinforcing plate63, and the second piezoelectric element64are laminated in this order. The vibrating element6is fixedly mounted on the driven element5in a state where the contact portion66abuts on the contacted element51. Further, the vibrating element6receives reaction force from the contacted element51when the vibrating element6vibrates so that the driven element5is rotated together with the vibrating element6by means of the reaction force.
