ABSTRACT:
The travelling piecer is constructed to accomodate piecing of a thread which is broken during winding onto a thread package or to accomodate starting of a fresh package on a bobbin. The piecer includes a suction nozzle to find a broken yarn end from a package, a centering mechanism for positioning the located yarn in a predetermined position and a threading device for forming the located yarn into a loop.
A carrier for an auxiliary yarn package is also provided with a roller pair for feeding a yarn from a package and a second suction nozzle for manipulating the auxiliary yarn into a predetermined position extending from the first nozzle for interception by the centering mechanism.
