ABSTRACT:
A process for preparing a homogenous asphalt composition includes introducing distillation tower bottoms at a temperature of about 425.degree.-470.degree. F. to a vessel through which air is flowing at about 6-15 psi pressure, introducing ground tire rubber to the vessel and bombarding the distillation tower bottoms and ground tire rubber with the air until the mixture is completely and stably homogenized, and recovering the homogenized asphalt composition. The homogenized asphalt composition is a two-component composition of distillation tower bottoms and ground tire rubber abrasively absorbed therein.
