ABSTRACT:
An olefin polymerization catalyst is prepared by depositing the chromium (III) compound obtained from the reaction of a chromium (III) carboxylate with an aluminum alkoxide upon an inorganic support material and calcining the impregnated support material in a non-reducing atmosphere above 300.degree. C, up to the decomposition temperature of the support material to provide an activated catalyst.
