ABSTRACT:
An oil dispersing device in a compresser having a crankshaft with an axial bore therein. An oil pumping device pumps oil upwardly through the axial bore and outwardly through a radial passage communicating with the bore. A cage bearing located in an upper portion of the compressor housing and journalling the crankshaft has a counterbore formed therein which is coaxial with and surrounds the crankshaft and forms an annulus with the outer surface of the crankshaft. Oil passing outwardly through the radial passage pools in the annulus and deflects additional oil exiting from the passage thereby deflecting oil upwardly onto the upper housing wall whereby the oil is cooled by the compressor housing.
