ABSTRACT:
The present invention provides the identification and characterization of a polynucleotide encoding rice PNI, a proline-rich protein that interacts withArabidopsisNPR1 in a yeast two-hybrid assay. The present invention also provides methods of enhancing resistance to pathogens by introducing the polynucleotide[s] into plants.
