ABSTRACT:
Novel bi-substituted derivatives of glycerol of the formula: ##EQU1## wherein X and Y, which can be the same or different, are either --O-- or ##EQU2## where R.sub.1 is a branched alkyl radical having from 5 to 8 carbon atoms, with the number of carbon atoms in the branched portion being 1, 2, or 3, and R.sub.2 is a linear alkyl radical having from 11 to 18 carbon atoms. These novel derivatives remain liquid at or below 30.degree.C and are particularly useful in cosmetic compositions.
