ABSTRACT:
A group of heat curable resins are provided which have good physical properties, which properties are retained to a surprising degree after prolonged exposure to temperatures as high as 300.degree. C. The products are acetylene end-capped esterimides having the structure: ##STR1## where R is an arylene group or a group having the structure: ##STR2## where X is ##STR3## R.sub.1 is an alkyl group containing 1 or 2 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 is hydrogen or an alkyl group containing 1 or 2 carbon atoms; and where R' is a phenylene group.
