ABSTRACT:
This invention provides a novel antiwear and antioxidant additive for use in lubricating oils, particularly automatic transmission fluids. The novel additive is the reaction product of a phosphating agent and a thioalcohol. The reaction product is nonaggressive to silicone-based seals.
