ABSTRACT:
A non-reducible dielectric ceramic composition consists essentially of a main component and at least one oxide selected from the group consisting of oxides of Mn, Fe, Cr, Co and Ni. The main component has a composition of the general formula: {(Ba.sub.1-o-p-q-r Sr.sub.o Ca.sub.p R1.sub.q R2.sub.r)O.sub.1+q/2+r/2 }.sub.m (Ti.sub.1-x-y Zr.sub.x Hf.sub.y)O.sub.2, where R1 is at least one element selected from the group consisting of La, Ce, Nd, Pr and Sm, R2 is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Dy, Ho, Er, Yb and Y, and o, p, q, r, x, y and m meet the following conditions: 0<o.ltoreq.0.32, 0.ltoreq.p.ltoreq.0.20, 0<q.ltoreq.0.02, 0<r.ltoreq.0.02, 0<x.ltoreq.0.24, 0<y.ltoreq.0.16, 1.00.ltoreq.m.ltoreq.1.03, and 0<q+r.ltoreq.0.03. The content of additive is 0.02 to 2.0 moles per 100 moles of the main component when calculated in terms of respective oxides, MnO, Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3, CoO and NiO. The composition may contain MgO as a part of the main component in an amount up to 0.05 mol %.
