ABSTRACT:
An improved chute and spout assembly for use with a wood chipper that clears logjams by the use of hydraulic rams attached to the chute near the chipper. The rams move between an extended position, for moving the logs, and a retracted position, when the logs are sliding by gravity on the interior surface of the chute. The rams are oriented and spaced apart in order to move the logs when jammed without interfering with each other when more than one ram is extended into the interior of the chute to move the logs. When retracted, the ends of the rams are approximately flush with the interior surface of the chute. Each ram is independently controlled for flexibility in clearing logjams.
