ABSTRACT:
A luminance signal obtained by negative-positive inverting and gamma-correcting a signal indicating an image on a negative film and a contour correction signal Y.sub.ap generated from the luminance signal Y are input, and a signal Y.sub.ap1 and a signal Y.sub.ap2 are obtained by an adder, a subtractor and an adder in accordance with following equations :
