ABSTRACT:
A negatively chargeable toner for developing latent electrostatic images comprising a binder resin, a coloring agent and a charge controlling agent which comprises a fluorine-containing quaternary ammonium salt of formula (I): ##STR1## wherein X represents --SO.sub.2 or --CO; R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently represent hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms or an aryl group; m is an integer of 1 to 5; and n is an integer of 1 to 10.
