ABSTRACT:
In a negative pressure boosting device of the present invention, upon depression of a pedal at a normal speed, an input shaft11and a valve plunger10move forward to close a vacuum valve15and open an atmospheric valve16and a power piston5,a valve body4,and an output shaft24move forward. In the initial stage of operation, hooks27cand31aare not engaged with each other so that a cylindrical member27does not move forward, thereby shortening the stroke of the input shaft11as compared to a conventional one. Upon rapid depression of the pedal, a press face10apresses a pressed face27eso as to deform an engaging arm portion27b, thereby disengaging the hooks27cand31afrom each other. The cylindrical member27is moved backward by a spring30to push a vacuum valve portion12bso that the atmospheric valve portion12ais spaced apart from the atmospheric valve seat14more rapidly than that of the service braking, thereby increasing the jumping amount and thus rapidly intensifying the output.
