ABSTRACT:
A negative electrode10for a nonaqueous secondary battery, has an active material layer2containing active material particles2a. The active material layer2has a metallic material4deposited among the particles by electroplating. The negative electrode10has a large number of holes5open on at least one side thereof and extending through the thickness of the active material layer. The negative electrode10further has a pair of current collecting layers3aand3badapted to be brought into contact with an electrolyte. The active material layer2is between the current collecting layers3aand3b. The holes5open on the negative electrode10preferably have an opening area ratio of 0.3% to 30%. At least one of the pair of the current collecting layers3aand3bpreferably has a thickness of 0.3 to 10 μm.
