ABSTRACT:
A needle protecting device including a carrier and a needle cover connected to the carrier at a distal needle cover end, the needle cover including a proximal needle cover end which is movable relative to the distal needle cover end such that the needle cover may be elongated along the length of the needle from an exposing position in which the injection needle protrudes through the needle cover to a protecting position in which the needle cover surrounds the injection needle at least as far as its tip, wherein the needle cover is elongated by an elasticity force, and wherein locking elements, including at least a distal locking element and a proximal locking element, lock the needle cover against shortening in its protecting position.
