A novel near-infrared sensitive phthalocyanine-polymer composition comprises a substituted aluminum phthalocyanine and a polymer wherein substituted aluminum phthalocyanine dimers and/or dimer aggregates which are responsible to the near-infrared sensitivity, are included.
