ABSTRACT:
Amyloid aggregation in animals is inhibited by administering a naphthylazo compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are hydrogen, alkyl, substituted alkyl, or complete a heterocyclic ring, R.sup.3 is hydrogen or alkyl, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6, and R.sup.7 are substituent groups. The compounds are especially useful in preventing and treating Alzheimer's disease.
