Naphtholactam dyestuffs of the formula ##SPC1##
Wherein A represents the remaining members of an aromatic ring system and R represents hydrogen, alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, alkyl, aryl or an alkylene radical bonded to the naphthalene ring in the 2-position, as well as thier preparation and their use for dyeing and printing natural and synthetic materials.
