ABSTRACT:
Anti-ulcer agents of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a straight or branched chain alkynyl group containing from 3 to 9 carbon atoms, inclusive, and non-toxic pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof, are prepared by reacting a compound of the formula ##STR2## with a compound of the formula ##STR3## wherein R.sup.1 is as defined above and R.sup.5 is (lower)alkyl, phenylalkyl or phenyl containing 1 or 2 substituents independently selected from nitro, chloro and bromo. The intermediates of Formula IV may be prepared by reacting the desired alkynylamine with a compound of the formula
