The invention relates to N-acyl-N-heterocyclylalkylamino acids of the formula ##STR1## R.sub.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.7 alkyl that is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen or by hydroxy, or is C.sub.2 -C.sub.7 -alkenyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.7 cycloalkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.7 cycloalkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.7 alkoxy or C.sub.3 -C.sub.7 cycloalkyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.7 alkoxy;
