ABSTRACT:
N-acyl derivatives of 3-amino-2,4,6-triiodobenzoic acid having the formula ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is hydrogen, alkyl of up to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxyalkyl of 2-5 carbon atoms or alkoxyalkoxyalkyl of 3-8 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 is alkylene of up to 5 carbon atoms, R.sub.3 is alkylene of up to 3 carbon atoms, R.sub.4 is alkyl of up to 6 carbon atoms, X is straight chain or branched alkylene with two or three carbon atoms in the main chain and n is 0, 1 or 2 and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, which are useful as X-ray contrast media for intravenous cholecystographie.
