ABSTRACT:
This invention provides isolated polynucleotides that encode the MurC protein ofPseudomonas aeruginosa. Purified and isolated MurC recombinant proteins are also provided. Nucleic acid sequences which encode functionally active MurC proteins are described. Assays for the identification of modulators of the of expression of murC and inhibitors of the activity of MurC, are also provided.
