ABSTRACT:
A multitip hot runner system for providing enhanced flexibility in the design, manufacture, and operation of multicavity molds. The system, which is self-contained, comprises a nozzle or manifold interface, externally heated flow passages, and interchangeable or replaceable tips. A fully hardened body permits a number of different multitip configurations all of which maintain uniform heating throughout the distribution architecture with the use of only a single thermocouple for temperature control.
