ABSTRACT:
Oligonucleotide probes that are specific for pathogenic yeasts and which may be used for the detection of such yeasts in biological samples are described. These probes are specific for yeast species within the clade ofCandida albicansand other pathogenic ascomycetous yeasts, and may be used singly or in a multiplex hybridization assay system.
