ABSTRACT:
A firearm magazine comprises an elongate container which has an end opening and is partitioned internally into two contiguous housings. First longitudinal portions of the housings are each adapted to hold two stacks of cartridges in a staggered arrangement. A subsequent longitudinal portion of each housing has a width which decreases gradually towards the opening of the container and ends with a width substantially equal to the diameter of a cartridge. At their ends facing the opening, the housings open into an end portion of the container which also has a width that decreases gradually towards the opening. An elevator member is movable in the container under the action of resilient means to push the cartridges towards the opening. The bearing and thrust surfaces of the elevator member and the internal walls of the container are shaped so as to allow the removal of successive cartridges housed in the container without jamming, when in use in a firearm.
