ABSTRACT:
Optical scanners having amplified scan capabilities are presented. The scanned beam is reflected a plurality of times between two opposed reflective surfaces, one of which moves with respect to the other. In one arrangement, both reflective surfaces are mutually driven by a tuning fork on which the reflective surfaces are mounted. The design provides a stable, reliable, bidirectional scan. Scan angles and frequencies can be varied by control of electronical drive systems for the tuning fork.
