ABSTRACT:
A permanent magnet structure providing an internal magnetic field having an djustable magnitude and direction. The structure utilizes a shell composed of a predetermined number of concentric permanent magnet cylinders, each of which generates a discrete tunable magnetic field for tuning the magnitude and direction of the internal working field. Depending on the magnitude and direction of each discrete magnetic field, the magnitude and direction of the working field can be controlled and adjusted as desired.
