ABSTRACT:
A multi-fingered hand device has a reduced number of actuators as a drive source for bending and extending finger mechanisms and is capable of smoothly bending and extending the finger mechanisms to work on an object, e.g., to grip an object. Finger mechanisms2a-2eare biased to an extended position by springs16, 25. A wire30extending from finger mechanisms2b, 2cand a wire29extending from the finger mechanisms 2d, 2eare trained respectively around pulleys33, 32, and a wire31extending from the finger mechanism2ais trained around a pulley36and drawn into an arm5. The pulleys32, 33, 36are rotatably held by a pulley holder43which is angularly movable about a support shaft42and movable toward the arm5. An actuator disposed in the arm5pulls the wire31or releases the wire31to bend or extend the finger mechanisms2a-2ealtogether. Even if any of the finger mechanisms2a-2eabut against an object and fail to move when they are being bent or extended, the other finger mechanisms can be bent or extended.
