A multi-directional switch contains a bearing4, an operating shaft3supported rockably by the bearing4, and a cam15cfor giving a required feeling of operation to a rocking operation of the operating shaft3. In the cam15c, a spherical surface-shaped bottom portion41for holding the operating shaft3in a non-operation position, first inclined surfaces42, 43, 44and45formed in a radial shape at an outer circumference of the bottom portion41, and second inclined surfaces46, 47, 48and49formed in a radial shape at an outer circumference of the first inclined surfaces, are formed, and at the boundaries between the first inclined surfaces and the second inclined surfaces, swelled step portions50, 51, 52and53are formed, respectively.
