ABSTRACT:
2-Thiophenecarboxamido-alkylmercaptans having the formula ##STR1## wherein alk is a straight or branched divalent alkylene radical of 2 to 4 carbon atoms and methods of using the compounds as mucolytic agents in combating lung mucus and compositions for use as mucolytic agents are disclosed.
