There is provided a mounting structure of a weather strip comprising a weather strip2mounted on a door panel1A or a body panel1B of an automobile. The weather strip2comprises a fin portion4formed in a die molded part3of the weather strip2to cover existing holes1bor mounting holes1aformed in the panel1,an insert plate6mounted in the fin portion4,a locking projection7protrudely formed from the insert plate6and projects out of the fin portion4,and an engagement member8attached to the locking projection7capable of disconnecting. The engagement member8is inserted into a existing hole1bor an mounting hole1aformed in the panel1for an engagement and to mount the weather strip2on the panel1.
