ABSTRACT:
A motor field control for d.c. drives, for regulating the speed in response to an input reference signal E.sub.in. A first operational amplifier is arranged as a ramp generator to receive the input command E.sub.in and deliver an output E.sub.1, having a maximum magnitude equal to E.sub.F. A potentiometer having a sliding contact is connected in the output of the first operational amplifier, the potential of the sliding contact with respect to ground defining an attenuation potential -.alpha.E.sub.1. The factor .alpha. is adjustable between O . . . n to include both fractional as well as whole numbered values. A second operational amplifier is arranged to sum three inputs: -E.sub.F, E.sub.in and -.alpha.E.sub.1 and deliver an output E.sub.2 for controlling the field flux beyond base speed.
