ABSTRACT:
An improvement in a mooring whip includes a locking cam adjacent the top of the mooring whip for securing a mooring line to the tip of the mooring whip and a release cord attached to the locking cam for selective release of the mooring line for slipping relative to the tip of the mooring whip, the mooring line and the release cord both being directed to a location adjacent the base of the mooring whip for operation remote from the tip of the mooring whip to either bias the boat away from the boat dock upon which the mooring whip is mounted or to enable the boat to be drawn up to the dock selectively for boarding.
