ABSTRACT:
O-cresolphthalein monophosphoric acid and salts thereof useful as substrates for alkaline phosphatase determinations are produced by reacting cresolphthalein with dibenzyl phosphite in the presence of carbon tetrachloride and an organic amine, hydrogenating the reaction product, recovering o-cresolphthalein monophosphoric acid from the hydrogenation product, and reacting the acid with bases to produce desired salts.
