ABSTRACT:
A mold forming material contains 1-20% by weight of spodumene. Spodumene is a lithium mineral whose theoretical composition formula is Li.sub.2 O Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 4SiO.sub.2. If casting is performed using a mold forming material containing spodumene, a casting which is satisfactory in appearance and accuracy is obtained.
