ABSTRACT:
A modem speed dialer circuit, used in conjunction with a modem, controls operation of the phone jack of the modem to enable the modem to automatically change the on/off hook status of a connected telephone. For a computer user who only uses the modem for dialing purposes, this eliminates the need to manually change of the telephone on/off hook state between each telephone call. The user can leave the telephone handset or headset off hook while the modem electronically and automatically changes the handset or headset on/off hook state as the user processes successive telephone calls.
