ABSTRACT:
A decision feedback equalizer has a feedback filter and K feed forward filter branches. Each of the K feed forward filter branches receives an input signal from a corresponding one of a plurality of channels associated with a corresponding one of a plurality of antennas, where K>1. Each of the K feed forward filter branches provides an output. An instantaneous SNR level γkis determined for each of the K feed forward filter branches. The instantaneous SNR level γkfor each of the K feed forward filter branches is compared to an upper threshold THand to a lower threshold TL. The outputs from the K feed forward filter branches are selectively added dependent upon the comparing of the instantaneous SNR level γkfor each of the K feed forward filter branches to the upper threshold THand to the lower threshold TL.
