ABSTRACT:
In accordance the present invention a package assembly10for the storage and distribution of a plurality of mints14is provided comprising a bottom container12for the storage of the plurality of mints14, the bottom container12comprising a bottom container base16and a plurality of bottom container sidewalls18. The package assembly10also includes an upper cover24including an upper cover top surface36. The upper cover24is mountable to the bottom container12. An arched longitudinal detent38is formed in the upper cover24. The arched longitudinal detent38is comprised of a detent surface40having a detent width42, a detent length44and a detent depth46. A delivery orifice54is formed through a portion of the arched longitudinal detent38and has an orifice width56and an orifice length58. The orifice width56and the orifice length58are sized to allow one of the plurality of mints14to pass through the delivery orifice54. An engagement slot60is formed into the arched longitudinal detent38, the engagement slot60having a slot width63, a slot length64, and a slot depth66. The engagement slot60is preferably connected to said delivery orifice54. A slidable arched tongue element68is movable between a tongue open position72and a tongue closed position70. The tongue element68includes a tongue upper surface74and a tongue lower surface76. The slidable arched tongue element68covers the delivery orifice54when in the tongue closed position70and the slidable arched tongue element68uncovers the delivery orifice54when in the tongue open position72. A t-shaped tongue engagement element92is mounted to the tongue lower surface76and is comprised of a longitudinal vertical member94and a longitudinal horizontal member96. The longitudinal vertical member94has a vertical member length102, a vertical member width98, and a vertical member depth100. The longitudinal vertical member94is positioned within the engagement slot60such that the slidable arched tongue element68is slidably secured to the arched longitudinal detent38.
