ABSTRACT:
7.alpha.-acylthio-4-pregnene-3,20-diones, active as mineralocorticoid hormone antagonists, of the formula: ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is hydrogen, hydroxyl or acyloxy --OR.sub.2, R.sub.2 is an acyl group derived from a straight or branched-chain alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, aryl or heterocyclic carboxylic acid having up to 12 carbon atoms.
